Permanent Committee for Scholarships and Training

The Committee for Scholarships and Training is responsible for addressing all matters related to scholarships and training, with a particular focus on the following:

1. Proposing the general policy for scholarships and training.
2. Developing the annual plan for scholarships and training for university employees in coordination with relevant university authorities.
3. Reviewing recommendations from the councils of colleges and institutes regarding the nomination of teaching assistants and lecturers. The Committee will coordinate among these councils and recommend actions based on the annual scholarship plan, considering the following factors:

  •  The number of Saudi faculty members and their proportion of the total faculty in the department, along with their specific specializations and teaching loads.
  •   The number of lecturers and teaching assistants in the department.
  • The number of scholarships available from the department, those expected to return, and their specific specializations.

4. Recommending scholarships for university employees, including administrators and technicians, based on the approved plan.
5. Making recommendations to extend or terminate scholarships or training based on proposals from college and institute councils and relevant authorities.
6. Recommending training programs for university staff.
7. Monitoring the status of scholarship students and trainees in coordination with the academic departments or the relevant entity. A report on any scholarship student struggling in their studies should be submitted to the University Council halfway through the scholarship period.
8. Preparing a detailed annual report on the status of scholarships and training across colleges, departments, and administrations, and submitting this report to the University Council.
